I was "caught" from the moment I began it until I finished it. I found it hard to put down and marveled anew at the bravery and strength of those who have served us in uniform. I was truly inspired by this man's story and am so glad that such a wonderful writer was the one to tell it. We had a great discussion, and each person there found it a wonderful read.

The Two Sisters' Cafe by Elena Yates Eulo and Samantha Harper Macy

The Two Sisters' Cafe

It was different for sure! It had its moments and some interesting characters, and I enjoyed the folksy humor. It was definitely an adult fairy tale, as advertised. It was a bit too weird for me, and the childish illustrations didn't appeal to me. (I would have rated it two-and-a-half stars" if I could have.)

I was completely fascinated by the story, the characters, the history of Ethiopia, all woven together by beautiful and moving writing. I loved reading it.

Delightful Read

It was very interesting to read about the way the Chinese and Japanese communities in Seattle were so segregated by choice and then how the Japanese were further segregated and isolated by the forced internment. The interpersonal relationships between the main characters were beatifully developed and kept me fascinated and wondering until the very end. I loved this book.....as did every other member of my club who was there to discuss it.

The Innocents Abroad

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book although it was very long! Twain was equally entertaining and outrageous. It was fascinating to read the tongue-in-cheek account of his travel experience of nearly150 years ago .

Vermeer's Hat

Had a difficult time making myself read it to the end; I felt as though I were reading a textbook.
