My Reviews

Into the Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes

Book Club Recommended
Interesting, Dramatic, Dark
Addictive

At the beginning it took a few "dates" to get used to the back and forth of the main character (past/present). However, our club was hooked from the beginning. There are some dark parts in the book which added to the drama and compulsion to continue reading. We would highly recommend this thriller/suspense to any book club interested in this genre or looking for something new.

This was the author's first book and we definitely cannot wait to read more from her.

The Evil Inside by Heather Graham

Informative, Slow
Synopsis was misleading

It appeared this book was going to lead you into the house being possessed, some what like Amityville, but it was not the case. The beginning was gripping, but soon took you down a path of boredom. I chose the word informative because it did give some historical content of the Salem Witch trials, but I for one was not interested in all that was given. Our club also felt the ending was rushed. The author was so detailed throughout the book but suddenly its like these are the killers and now here are some recipes. I probably wouldn't recommend this book unless you're into reading a story that uses different narrative modes constantly. At times I was very confused as to who was saying what and had to reread sections as well.
