My Reviews
This is really a terrific novel - historical fiction at its finest and a lot to talk about with a book club.
From the first page - this is a terrific book - my club loved it. The characters are rich and resonant and the story is both emotional and extremely well told. Henkin is a beautiful writer and master at characters that live off the page long after the book is done. The questions about love, delusion and fidelity.
Wonderful characters and a stunning examination of a marriage. Really moving!
I think Barbara always writes with insight about complex family matters. In this book the concerns about race in America are great debate topics for bookclubs.
This really is a provocative book about how when we lies for love we can destroy instead of help. If you like Jodi Picoult I think you'll love Delinsky.
With this book and couldn't put it down. It was magical and fresh and asks a lot of important questions about who we are with each other and how to move on.
This is a wonderful novel with a lot to think about - magical and curious - it will start conversations.
I loved this book...its a deep, thoughtful book that asks the right questions and makes you think as it entertains you at the same time. Brilliant and insightful. I can't say enough about how good it is. Henkin's best to date!
