My book club loves to discover new authors and their debut novels, so when we heard about this one, we jumped. It seems almost made for book clubs. There is so much here to discuss. Plus, somehow the author has written about touchy, serious topics with such a light touch that you find yourself laughing one page and crying on another, then laughing again. And then thinking and talking a lot. A review in "The Washington Review of Books" column "Would My Book Club This?" made us try it. I predict when it goes to paperback, it's going to be a great book club seller. We adored it.
