My Reviews
The members of our Book Club rated this book 3.8 on a 5 point scale. Everyone enjoyed the book especially the description of the time period, the desolate location and the interactions in a small rural town. Very well written and compelling story.
Our book club generally enjoyed this book very much. It was an incredibly romatic story, but we found what made it special was the backdrop of Burma. There were so many details about the people and the culture of the country.
Those unfamiliar with the culture of North Korea will be shocked by the book. It can be depressing and disturbing. Some members hated it and did not finish the book. Others loved it. Great discussion ensued.
interesting story about a young mom in Appalachia who find a valley of Monarch butterflies. Part family drama, part cautionary tale about the impact of climate change. Very accurate depiction of life in that part of the country.
we had a great discussion on this book. Everyone liked it even more after our discussion. very well written, imaginative, unique, thought provoking.
Our book club loved this book. It takes place in eastern Kentucky in a small mountain town. Part family drama, part environmental saga, tolerance, grief, coming of age, it\\\\\\\'s all there.
