Not a bad book

Main character is a 17yr boy and that explains the language. Good story but dark and at times difficult to follow. Good dark story but not much for discussion

True Adriana

The book is classic Adriana Trigiana. Old country beginning which was beautifully written but I thought went on for too long. Overall excellent read; characters and description

The book is great for discussion regardless of where you are spiritually. Author writes the book as if you are sitting with her as she tells you what occurred.

Was not prepared to enjoy this book as much as I did. she has a humorous manner of writing and perspective as she reflects on her life the good-bad and of our society.

Recommend reading

The book is well written and in a style that made you feel that you were with the character. However I did not like the book at all. The first character walked in the dessert and I felt that I was there pulling myself through that sand during the entire book.

The tale is intriguing and has several twist. You feel as the main character does. The ending is a bit storybook but then she goes to sleep.....

The Invisible Wall

Story of the ghetto in England that is Jewish on one side and Christian on the other. The author is the 4 year old narrator of the story as he grows on this street. The characters are real and personal to the reader. This is a unique perspective for the time period. Worth the read.

Well written and researched

The book is well written with good character development. Author brings out a side and depth to Poe that is rarely shown. Very good love story.

Sisters

Always a good familial relationship to explore. The twist of the psychic and each twins handling made the book worth reading. Starts slow but its a nice book and worth the read.

Intriguing

I found the book reminiscent of an Alfred Hitchcock style movie which did influence the author. The book paces well and each chapter is from another characters perspective. You want to return to the characters who are all likeable and realistic.

Relationships and War

Brilliantly written with character developments. Each character has their own tick that you find endearing. the story is heart wrenching and beautiful. Set in Poland during german occupation with a jewish family who had raised a german son. The wrenching story of strength - love and commitment. Commitment to each other and justice. The type of book that stays with you to the likes of The Book Thief.

Come Home

I found the characters lacking and typical. The book is a decent read but I felt that it was not developed enough and the characters to one dimensional and predictable.

Overall a good read

The story is well researched historically and the characters are well developed. Using the Hungarian Jew for the war is a newer perspective and I enjoyed this aspect. Unfortunately there are not unbelievable parts. The book was slow. It will be a great discussion book.

Who knew the Grimke Sisters

Excellent book utiliizing 2 women from very different places in life and how they grew inspiring each other and starting the womens movement just by trying to abolish slavery. Its not a feminist book but historically based and well researched. As true to Monk she does an excellent job of bringing the depths of her characters out.
