My Reviews
Of all the books we've done, this is the only one that appealed to all of us. We also enjoyed the sequel Sarah's Quilt and are looking foward to the 3rd coming out in Sept. 2007. Talking to the author on a phone interview for our club was an amazing treat. I highly recommend it. We all want to be a little more like Sarah, the strong main character in this series.
I learned a little about life in Africa, which I felt was the only good thing about this book. It was obvioulsy a man trying to write from a women's perspective. He just wasn't able to capture being a woman.
I recommend it to any club.
This book is good for discussion especially for anyone who's been pregnant. Don't read this one while you are expecting. Much too emotional for those who don't need any more worry while the bun is in the oven.
These books are quick reads. Compelling and fun to read. Have you ever read a vampire book about a noble, and ethical vampire. Interesting. I have some reservations about the female main character. Mostly for teenage audience but all the mom's have been reading them and enjoying the romance, they remember from their youth.
This book is written in old lanuage. It was difficult for me to stay focused on what was being said. Of course in those moments when my mind was clear enough to understand the writing I had the desire to be better person. If you need some light reading, this is not it.
