My Reviews
Life of Pi is a wonderful example of how the human spirit choose to live through their journey and to see it as positive experience or negative experience even at it's most brutal, heart breaking moments.
I read this book during a time of loss. I was inspired through Miss Gilbert's journey of self awareness and I felt my heart resonated with her heart.
Reading about other women's experiences is heart breaking and hope inspiring. We are all able for to change and to help others.
If you like dirt, then you will like this. It may not be the best written novel but it IS the BEST thing that happened to American Literature!!! Read it!!!
I liked it but I certainly didn't love it. And I'm more unsure what it is that people love about it so much. Both characters were hate-able, yet I found Amy to be more hate-able than Nick, but then found myself hating Nick just as much....which may have been the point all along. At the end I found myself very disappointed and the story was left with too many holes that could have dissolved the issues. If by chance Ms. Flynn decides to right a sequel, I certainly hope she rectifies the overall story, because I certainly didn't like it.
It's not great either but it is an entertaining read. I would recommend this to other readers. Especially for vampire fans and Anne Rice fans.
Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this story. At times it was a little dry but it all comes back together full circle. I wanted beat the main character myself but I was rooting for him at the same time. I wouldn't mind reading other books by this author.
