Very interesting and exciting to read - not only because the characters are vividly portrayed and lead lives so different from ours, but because the world and era in which they live is also presented with vivid detail and color. I\\\\\\\'m currently doing genealogy research, trying to piece together the stories of my own great-grandparents. Although they didn\\\\\\\'t live in New York and were not bank robbers, this book helped me to better visualize the era in which they struggled to make their way as young adults.
