My Reviews
The author takes her time developing the characters and the plot, but the pay off is worth it. Well written with a nicely crafted plot.
This is a beautifully written story. The characters are hard not to fall for, especially the main character, Rueben and his younger sister Swede. I would highly recommend reading this book.
A fast paced and fun book to read that lends itself well to discussion about choices and character traits.
Of 9 members, only 1 person finished the book. And we finish our books... This was so unorganized it was difficult to make heads or tails of it. The book read more like a reading guide than anything else.
This book was poorly written and highly unbelievable. A waste of a good club pick.
I light read, funny and witty. I would call this a "literary sorbet" - if you need something light after reading something heavy.
A beautifully written book with well developed plot and characters. So much to discuss as a book club - I would recommend this!
This is a book that takes one emotionally wrecked woman and through her 1,100 mile trek on the Pacific Crest Trail, takes her to a place where she has dealt with her pain and anger. She doesn't start out perfect and she doesn't end up perfect, but she tells the story of her journey with honesty and wit.
This book is so delightful to read. An amazing story told in the most pleasing way. Full of wit and subtle humor, this is a must read for anyone - even those like myself who do not care for the genre of fantasy.
This is a memoir that is very creatively written and illustrated. Although there were obviously some serious issues she had with her parents, the author uses humor to help make reading about it more palatable. Don\\\'t let the fact that this is an illustrated book fool you - there are some honest emotions that the author has put out there that would lend itself well to discussion.
