While this is ultimately a very sad story, it is beautifully written and a scenario that every human being must, at some point, face. Several of our members found the book to be positive in this outcome, so there an optimistic feel to the story.

This was a historical fiction book that brought to light the role of the Jewish community during the Civil War. I knew nothing about this, so I found it very interesting.
