My Reviews
Our group had very interesting discussion on this book. Hard subject but very intriguing!
As usual, Kate Morton has written a beautiful book with her signature plot twists!
This book was beautifully written. Our group has read many different WWII books, but this one was one of the most well written and intriguiing. It was a little slow at first, but give it a chance!
We first read this as a book group in 1999. We decided to revisit it, and we enjoyed it just as much. Maybe even more, as we are all older and could enjoy the friendships in the book.
This a a slow read, that was a little confusing. I'm not sure we would recommend it but we did learn about a time in our history that we were not that familiar with.
Our group really enjoyed this book. We had never read anything about the Revolutionary War era and we really enjoyed learning about this time period.
We all enjoyed the book and it created good discussion. We hadn't really read much about the Quakers or the Underground Railway. We enjoyed learning about both.
We had great discussion at our gathering about this book. We took a poll at the beginning... "Would you have opened the envelope?" That got the discussion off to an interesting start!!
This book was just too long and had too much detail on some unimportant parts, and then skimmed over much more item details.
