My Reviews
A dark topic which centered most of our discussion. What would we do if one of our children had participated in such a horrific act?
Our Book Club enjoyed this book, held a lively discussion, and was read by all members! It held everyone's interest.
Everyone at our Book Club enjoyed this book! They liked the characters and how the two stories ran back to back. We also thought there were some life lessons in the book and interesting topics about women to discuss.
Most people in our Book Club liked this novel. Some didn't like the main character but loved the meaning of the different flowers.
Club enjoyed the book and had a good discussion. No one had viewed the Hallmark movie of it.
Most in our Book Club felt it was hard to get into and boring. Those who persevered liked the ending!
All 9 of us liked this book and we had a great discussion about the issues in the book!
All 10 of us read this book and liked it. We liked the characters and the story. The bond between Vivian and Molly grew as their stories were told. Most of us were not aware of this part of American history.
I loved the relationship between the daughter, Lisle and her Dad. I thought Lisle showed true courage to face her many hardships in life and she did not ever give up hope.
Most everyone enjoyed reading this book. We had a good discussion about the choice Will made. We liked the characters. Several people thought a few parts were too contrived.
Our book club was mixed in its review of this book. Some didn\\\'t relate to the characters. We all liked the setting for the novel. Most of our 11 just liked it okay.
Everyone loved this book!! We liked the characters, the excitement, and were caught up in the entire French/German 'connection' during WWII.
Interesting account of experience on PCT but none of us would have ever done that alone and as unprepared as sh was!
We had a good discussion about this book that included young love, abusive families, and the need for change in our society.
We all enjoyed the novel and the two story lines of Joe and then the rowing. It was a bit too wordy and long for some of us but it was a great story of one man\\\\\\\' never giving up and teamwork!
We all enjoyed reading it as well as discussing it. We wished you would have had questions for this particular book. I found them on another site though. You had a reading guide listed but it didn't come up.
Good read. I liked the characters and the bond that grew between Johanna and Capt Kidd.
Most of the group did not enjoy this book. The author's first language is not English but we thought the writing was pretty elementary. We did however, find it informative about the Chinese Cultural Revolution.
