My Reviews
Although it was easy to put down this book, I found that in nearly every chapter, I could easily relate to what the author was conveying, granted we have similar demographics. I would recommend this book to anyone who wishes to be smart about how they live day-to-day and how they relate to their family. This book confirmed some of the things I was already practicing and also gave me inspiration and encouragement to do the things I have not thought of or have avoided doing.
It spurred a fun conversation in our group about birth order and the quirks in our own families.
Author Janis Amatuzio\\\'s stories were inspiring and spurred interesting conversation among our group. The writing style of the book is not that of an experienced writer, but if you can get past the awkward conversations portrayed in the book, the stories are beautiful.
An eye opening account of the Hmong-American experience, a subject rarely written about.
It was a very short book that was a bit disappointing. It did not explore several ideas that our book club thought would make for a more intriguing story.
This book inspired more conversation than just about any book our club has read. Some said it was a bit slow to get going but all enjoyed the story.
