My Reviews
This book was beautifully written. The imagery was so clear and vivid. It's the classic Romeo & Juliet story, but with a new and magical setting. Only negative was that the book jumps around in narrator and time, which could get confusing.
As a teen fiction book, the main character exhibits the confusion and growth of a teen coming of age, which can be annoying at times. Overall the story is interesting with some great curve balls to keep the reader on their toes.
Feed is the first in the Newsflesh trilogy, and is a refreshing take on the Zombie trend. The setting is in the "Post-Rising" world after the people have fought and learned to live with the zombies. The book is focused on a political campaign, with many twists that will leave you wanting more.
John Connolly is a brilliant author and The Gates is one of his best. This is a fun story about a boy and his dog, that is both riveting and funny, sometimes getting the perspective from the dog! Be sure to check out the sequel to this book as well!
