My Reviews
Our group really enjoyed this book and found the relationship between Will and his mom very touching. We found Mary Anne to be an inspiration to all of us, and were impressed by her strong will to live, her unselfish devotion to the cause of refugees, and her strong faith.
Very well written! Loved the alternating stories of Beattie, who struggled to raise her daughter while running a sheep farm in Tasmania during the depression, along with Emma, a self-absorbed prima ballerina living in present-day London, who inherits Beattie\\\\\\\'s farm in Tasmania. Great read - I flew through this book in 3 days!!
Secrets are the focal point of this book...everyone has secrets which ultimately affect the lives of everyone in the book and their destinies. Excellent writing that draws you in and really paints a picture of the setting and time period. Highly recommended!!
