I can never put down a book by Pat Conroy. His writing alone is reason enough to read this novel. Don't let he subject matter of four young men in a military college discourage you from reading this book. The characters, their courage, betrayal and honor will stay with you long after you finish reading. Pat Conroy should be considered a national treasure.
