My Reviews
An insightful story presented in a very fun and interesting manner. The central idea of the novel seems to be that no matter how close we may be to someone, we can never truly understand them, we can never realize the whole complexity of human personality or psychology, but that does not mean we should stop trying to reach out to those we love.
This is a story of a blind girl who sets out with her little brother to find her missing father. Their father is a writer and the pages from his diary, which they find in America, constitute a meta-narrative that discusses and poses philosophical questions about the nature of coincidence, while in the book in itself is a series of coincidences that serve to bring them all together.
The story of crucifixion from the point of view of Mary, who is presented here as a very ordinary woman, a wife and a mother, a real person who has seen and felt all kinds of human emotions throughout her life - not just happiness, elation or silent stoic suffering, but fear, pain, horror, guilt, scorn and anger as well.
