My Reviews
A very interesting book. Written in the first person, about a woman who wakes up every day with no memory of her adult life. She finally decides to write a diary to figure out what is going on. I was hooked from the first page. There are times when it seems repetitious (for obvious reasons) but otherwise a really good story.
Did Amelia commit suicide or not? The story is told from Amelia and her mom, Kate, point of view. It is all about the very hot topic of bullying in today's cyberworld.
A very good tale of two orphans - the 91 yo Vivian and 17 yo Molly - and their background, mostly Vivian's. I did not know their were "orphan trains" prior to this book (they ran from 1854-1929 taking children to the midwest for adoption). Sad that life for a number of these children probably did not go well. This story is goes back in forth from "2011" to between "1929-43". The top of each chapter states where you are at. Vivian goes from being born in Ireland, to coming to NY to then taking the train to Minnesota but at the end she is in Maine. Molly has spent all her life in Maine. I don't want to say to much, as I feel it would give to much away.
Very interesting autobiography of a year in a women's minimum security prison and the prison system. I have not seen the show based on this book, but I understand its nothing like the book other than basic info and character names. My main opinion after reading this, is that the prison system needs an overhaul.
