Loved this book! Was so fascinated with the world she created and how realistic she made it. Was very impressed with the level of the detail - the footnotes were a story in and of themselves! It was a big chunk to read - but I look forward to reading it again. I'm hoping for a sequel...
I read the book without having seen the movie and I was surprised - I kept thinking through the whole book "they wouldn't have Audrey Hepburn do that!" I'm sure the movie is "cleaned up" and that Audrey plays Holly as a flirt, but not as edgy and intense as the real Holly.
Our group agreed that seeing the movie and reading the book would generate a much more interesting discussion. We will all be seeing the movie and then discuss it again.
