My Reviews
This is an unbelievable story of courage and strength set in the most horrendous circumstances. What makes it so inspiring is its a true story and the author is still alive.
Pluses included character development and variety, the historical facts presented and the realism of the sinking. Minuses included the hard to believe luck of Tess; walking out on her employer and immediately being employed by the Duffs as well as meeting the wealthy older gentleman on the boat. Most would recomend it to others as a good read.
This was very informative about the times and lives of artists and writers in Europe after WW I. Very well written and researched.
This book had too many characters who were poorly developed. Jumping around from character to character made it very confusing and there were too many gaps in the characters\\\' lives. Not one of his best books!
A very timely story regarding the totally inadequate foster care system. The flower meanings and story line were very interesting. The book was a little confusing at times as it went between the past and the present. But overall it flowed well and was well written.
It was well written, but a dark depressing story. The characters were well developed and true to themselves. The opening setting of an explosion in a museum is very timely. Sometimes there was too much detail which made for a long story.
Book was very fast paced, confusing at times, some of the events were incredulous, but overall entertaining reading.
Very well written providing insight into the way ordinary men became monsters and repeatedly perpetrated atrocities on the Polish men, women and children of the Jewish faith and those who helped them. The grave hardships endured by the Polish Jews which they never forgot. This may be a fiction book but it reads as non-fiction.
This story had too many plots going on in a very disjointed fashion. The two main characters had a fantasy ending and some of the others where less well developed. The story was very hard to believe.
At first it was difficult to sort out who\'s who, but it became easier. The book was well written, an easy read and the characters were well developed.
Very interesting and informative novel on woman in China, the oppression they suffered from the male dominated society and they ways of coping with women's secret communications and sister groups.
