My Reviews
I wish they had half stars. I would actually give this a 3 1/2. I liked it a lot. But, the story is a bit contrived and some of it baffling. This girl was cut more breaks than she deserved. That being said, I gave this book the benefit of the doubt hence the 4 stars. Recommending it for our book club. I think it would make for a good discussion.
If you are looking for conspiracy theories about the Kennedy assassination or salacious details about Kennedy's life this probably isn't the book for you. The author himself said on many occasions only facts that could be substantiated were included in this book so there are no big revelations - if that's what you are looking for. I was in elementary school when John Kennedy was elected and this happened. It was an interesting look back at the events leading up to and the assassination. The part about the actual killing itself and the ride to the hospital was quite riveting for me. I hate to keep repeating myself - half stars needed. I give this a 3 1/2.(less)
Though this might have not been one of the best books our club has read, \\\"Rules of Civility\\\" made for a really great book club discussion.
Another review of this book, I think, had it right (at least for me). It\\\\\\\'s not that I disliked the book it\\\\\\\'s just that there was nothing in it that I could really like. My biggest question: Why did these people even get married? Most of the members of our book club didn\'t like it.
