My Reviews
Very informative novel regarding the lives of young women of college age in modern day Syria. Portrays lives of a number of different women whose lives intersect and meld. I enjoyed this first novel by Kati Woronka. Our club has a member who is a childhood friend of Kati\\\\\\\'s. We had the gift of a 30 minute conference call with her in London during our discussion.
This was an eye opener for me! Very interesting.
Loved the look into a real, rural family's extreme challenges during the 1930's and 40's in the Midwest. It helped make the history pages come alive.
Well written, well researched and insightful are good descriptors of this novel. I received new information regarding life within WWII Germany and the present day Texas immigration situation. How do these \\\"meet?\\\" Readi it!
Difficult to face some things that are realities in some people's lives.
A bit slow at the beginning, but I got engrossed in the characters and their entertwining lives. Good study in human nature.
Unbelievably well researched bringing important information to light about this hospital and its "population" during and after Katrina.
