In instances like this, I truly wish I could give 5+ stars. This story was so amazing & original. I've never read anything quite like it before. I was surprised when I opened up the first page and found the writing stiff and almost history-like. I felt a sense of dread at how long this book was going to take to read. But within a few pages, that same stiff writing found heart. It still took me an unusually long time to read, but I savored every moment of it.

In a day and age where I feel like almost every story is either a mystery/thriller, coming of age, or fantasy in set in another world, The Golem and the Jinni is a true gem.
