Overall, my book club enjoyed this book. Some of the ladies were a bit uncomfortable with the graphic descriptions of the murder scenes. But we all felt that it helped us to better understand the state of mind of the murderer. What we all liked the most was learning more about the Amish way of life and the conflicts for Kate being a part of two very different ways of life. My club has chosen to read the second book in the series next year.

This book sparked one of the most interesting discussions our club has had in a long time. The only reason this book did not get 5 stars is because most of our club members felt that there were too many things left hanging (which made us wonder if there may be a sequel planned for this book). We all enjoyed the relationship between Nannie & Garnet the best. Since we all have known older people who had similar personalities, it was easy for our club to find the humor in both of their actions.

For our book club, we were divided on this book. Half of us liked it & half of us didn't like it. I am recommending this book because it inspired a very interesting discussion. Much of this book is a little over the top and very unbelievable, but as previously stated, it inspired one of the best discussions our book club has ever had.
