My Reviews
The book is not exciting but it is sweet. If you are looking for a book that is deep, creative or one that you are unable to \\\"put down,\\\" this is not it. It tends to be somewhat simplistic in the way the author has chosen to tell Addie\\\'s story to her granddaughter
This story builds and grows, as the reader observes the interaction between these two characters. I felt myself relating to many scenarios and was again reminded that, in life, we are not perfect; there are no "do overs" and we must move forward. To observe Lakshmi is to reassure oneself that we can grow and change at any age, if there is the courage to do so. Maggie represented the "human" in all of us, as did Sudhir. I would recommend this book. It definitely triggered some good book club discussion!
This is the sickest book I have ever read! If it had not been chosen by my book club, I would never have read it!!!! There was not one character that I admired.
