My Reviews
I enjoyed it tremendously. I have enjoyed every book that I have read written by Charles Marten.
Enjoyed the mystery but too much bad language and poor morals of the characters.
I enjoyed every word. Charles Martin is a great writer who does not rely on sex and bad language to get his feelings across. You could not tell what was going to happen until it happened. You could almost feel what the was going through physically and mentally.
Our club did not like it. I found reading it to be stressful, too racial. None of our group cared for it.
Excellent book. I enjoyed every page. The descriptions made you feel like you could see and feel Scotland. The characters were so interesting and you could almost touch and know them personally. I thought it was a happy book.
I greatly enjoyed this book. the minister (father) showed grace in so many ways. It was a very good mystery. Nice to find a book that is clean and not constantly full of sex.
Excellent look into a life few of us know. Shows where a person who left school at 14 can get by hard work. He came to America with little idea what he was getting into except he wanted to make a good life. Best understood if you have read "Angela's Ashes" first.
I really enjoyed it. Found it interesting all the way through. recommend to anyone who enjoys mysteries.
Nothing I would consider reading. Read only a few pages. Would never recommend it.
