My Reviews
Anne Lindbergh was a truly interesting woman who wore many different hats. Thank you, Melanie, for giving us this informative historical novel.
Our members thought it was a different view of the sufferings of the Jews, because it was not set in the concentration camps, but followed the lives of a few men, and the conviction of a war criminal. Very interesting reading with not too much legalese.
Mary Sutter was a woman way before her time, her continuous battle to achieve her goal to become a surgeon in a man\'s world
Lovely story of a man who finds love and learns to give it.
This novel had so many points of interest the discussion went on past our usual closing time. A different kind of a who-done-it
The book club had a good discussion on slavery, the Underground RR and reparation claim.
Most members did not know of the migration of Jewish community into China. Also was a good story of love and it\\\\\\\'s sacrifices
Our club had a great discussion on the main character, Lillian the Ice Cream Queen.
Great discussion material.
This book was liked by all. It was The Perfect Book
Great book for discussion on assisted death, religion, etc.
we learned a lot of their political and personal lives
Most of our members were disappointed that it was not as interesting as it's popularity seems to suggest. It was not an historical novel, which is why we didn't give it a better rating
Ruth Wariner shows the resilience of the human spirit with her strength to carry through with her promise to take care of her siblings.
Members were happy that Sara arrived to save a dying town with her spirit and love of books, and love of people and community. A feel-good book!
Our club discussion was very interesting and very well liked by the members.
There were many things happening in the early 1920s which lent to our discussion; child labor, the influenza pandemic, WW1 and women's place in the working force, to name a few.
Much discussion was had on the change in the main character, Otto, while traveling with a guru from NYC to NDak. Interesting and at times humorous.
