Composed primarily of interviews with those involved (on both sides) in the Civil Rights Movement, this book is enlightening and informative on a very personal level. Highly recommended.

This book was thought provoking. It revealed many truths that were kept from those of us who grew up white here in the South during the Civil Rights Movement. Our discussion led us to be reflective about the amount of prejudice we each grew up with. Each one if the 6 of us who read the book was changed in some way. It felt like doors and windows were flung open and our understandings broadened and grew deeper.
