I would have drove my car from coast to coast listening to Bahni Turpin narrate "Daughter of a Daughter of a Queen" The story (politically correct or not) was absolutely fabulous for me. I have been in a dry spell finding my next great story and Sarah Bird wet my whistle. Unfortunately I have never heard of Cathy Williams a woman Buffalo Soldier and now I can't tell enough readers about this well written, exciting story about Cathy. All the elements that make a good book great are in this book. I didn't care if Cathy Williams words were true or not true for a slave in that era. I thought all the words were fantastic and they took me on a beautiful journey through love, loss, grief, beauty, ugly, and friendship I was totally captivated. If you like to read historical fiction that dreamily takes you there and back DAUGHTER OF A DAUGHTER OF A QUEEN is the book for you. I rate it 5 stars for Sarah Bird and 5 stars to Cathy Williams.
