Without the aid of the family tree- very confusing who belonged to which family.
Scharff is supposed to be an historian, but she makes suggestive leaps, unsupported by evidence, and then continues the argument as though it has been settled. I got sick of reading:\\\"possibly, perhaps, we can assume, most likely, probable, must have felt, could have, may have, we\\\'ll never know but can assume...\\\" and so on. Huge conclusions based on no evidence. The author clearly doesn\\\'t like Jefferson, and it shows. Her bias overlooks the times in which the events took place. Nonetheless, if you knew nothing about Jefferson you would learn a thing or two, and the man\\\'s contradictions deserve exploration. I just wish the author had been more objective.
