I have enjoyed following the life and crime-solving career of Kurt Wallander progressively through the nine novels written by Mankell and which culminates in his last novel (The Troubled Man). This is the capstone book which provides the reader with an inner view of Wallander\'s thoughts on of life, death, and existence. The series is so popular because the universal issues that all humans face throughout their lives.
