Read this book! A memoir written from the heart of a father of a down syndrome daughter. Every parent of any child can learn something from this. Letting a child be themselves, living in the moment and truly seeing a child for who they are.
A well-written, delightful book that will challenge your personal evaluation of anyone with a disability. Do I see and not simply look? Paul shares honestly the joys of raising Jillian and the struggles to overcome medical and educational stereotypes to allow Jillian to define Jillian. Jillian's optimistic spirit is inspiring. I enjoyed thoroughly.
Very easy read. Felt like I knew the family personally. A lesson in love, perseverance, courage.
