I highly recommend reading this book. I didn't really know how the whole Palestinian/Israeli differences started. It gives great information and detail about both sides. It definitely leaves you thinking.
This book was definitely a hard read. The story centers around a home built by an Arab man and occupied by a Jewish woman. The Arab man wants to visit there after years of being evacuated from the home. There is a lot of history told here and a lot of it is like reading a history book. If your book club likes reading intense books then I would recommend it as it isn't a light read. Our group had varied opinions of the book. Some liked it intensely and others found it too difficult.
This is a very poignant book and I feel a lot of people will gain some much needed insight to the struggles for the Jews, Arabs, et all. However, I read it and struggled through it as an assignment not pleasure. But the topic is not pleasurable and I have to say we had a great discussion.
