Historical research and detailed characters provide an interesting story of the immigrant New York experience.

A wonderful historical fiction. The story was engaging and really created an image of the period of NY with immigrants fighting to survive. I enjoyed reading about the Brooklyn Bridge, corruption and gangs without an overly gory story line. I recommend it!
