I have always enjoyed reading memoirs and this book is no exception. It is not only well written but rich in musical and sixties era history. Being a fellow Hoosier was a delightful bonus for me! I related to a lot of the Indianapolis settings which allowed me to visually walk through this book.
Mr. Dunlap captivates me as a reader as I related to his rocky marriage and the tough personal decisions he had to make throughout his young adult life. It was exhilarating to live a musical entertainers life with Mr. Dunlap and his band as they went from rags to riches to well …real life. I applaud the openness and raw honesty that this Author gives the reader as he depicts not only his accolades but also the mistakes he makes on this journey.
Thank you Mr. Dunlap for allowing me to become part of a rock n roll band at least for a while as I read your book. I took the ride with you from Indiana to Las Vegas and enjoyed every minute of it. As a reader if you want to travel back to an infamous era and become part of a rock n roll band for a while this is definitely the book for you! I’m looking forward to the sequel!

I highly recommend this book. It is so rich in musical history, life experiences, love, loss, and the up and down journey of pursuing your dreams. It is a memoir that moved me deeply, and had me emotionally invested from the moment I began reading it. It is one of the best books I have every read.
