I enjoyed this book, but didn't feel like it challenged me. The characters were vivid and real. I liked the way she structured the book so you got to hear each of the characters' voices.
I liked the descriptions of food, and the stories of the people and their interactions
Our bookclub enjoyed this book. Everyone liked the way the author used cooking to invoke emotions and make you connect with the story. I enjoyed the relationships between the characters. We also enjoyed a great phone interview with the author, Erica Bauermeister. She was gracious, funny and encouraging. We look fwd to her next book.
Everyone in our club loved this book. It changes the way you think about life. Couldn't get enough! Highly recommend this "happy ending" book.
Even though this book is an easy read and doesn't seem to have much depth at first, we had a great time discussing it. We all seemed to relate to the subject well, and it brought out lots of personal stories. It was a lot more insightful than I first thought.
This deceptively simple and quick read provided one of the longest and best discussions we've had to date. If you are also a dinner club, you can have a great meal to accompany your discussion!
I really enjoyed reading this book... found it to be calming read and taking a step back to enjoy cooking.
Great book for those who love the whole process of food, from the beginning to the end!! A great gift for cooks!
Cliched, predictable, overuse of dramatic prose
It was a feel good book. I enjoyed reading it. The language was
beautiful.
All the characters are likable and descriptions are amazing.
and life as essential ingredients. Inspiring in many parts.
Light read. Good for summer reading
I loved this book! The same author, Erica Bauermeister, wrote one of my all time favorite books \\\\\\\'Joy for Beginners\\\\\\\'. She uses the same incredible detail to build her characters. You feel like you know each one personally. And of course the book is about a chef teaching a cooking class so if you are a foodie like me you will devour it!!!
I found it an easy book to read and enjoyable. The characters were well portrayed and I could relate to several of them
I am not a foodie and do not like to cook. Couldn't get into this book! However, if you ARE a foodie and enjoy cooking, you will enjoy it.
This was a delicious read! I love to cook and the descriptions of the food and preparations were absolutely brilliant. The description of the characters in and out of class was so beautifully written. I absolutely loved the Thanksgiving cooking class. I'm happy to see that there's a sequel.
