I liked it, but the author could have cut out 200-300 pages and the book would have still been good. It got a little ridiculous that as soon as the heroes got through one obstacle, immediately they fell into another one, never from their own mistakes. With all the hype about it being like Diana Gabaldon's series (minus time travel), I expected a better story than what it was. However, it was enjoyable, though maybe not as historically accurate as I had hoped, and I do plan on reading the next book....jury is out on the rest of the series.
