The Scarlet Thread has become one of the favorites of our book club. The issues dealt with are ageless. Pride, the desire for better things, can sometimes reek havoc on a marriage and build barriers where there were none. This is a book recommended to couples in all stages of their life.

This book brings an awareness that we all face similar situations in life regardless of the era in which we live. Life often brings a struggle between providing for our family's material wants and needs and our emotional and spiritual needs. The book also reminds us of attributes for which we need to continue to strive, such as submission of our will and forgiveness.

Good book. Hard to put down. Hard to read at parts because the main character is so forgiving I didn't always agree with her sentiment.
