Excellent description of the setting and facts about this period of US history. Thought provoking presentation of the impact of human decisions in times of stress and life threatening situations.
This book was difficult to read at times and yet captivating. I was surprised that any of them managed to survive the ordeal. To also learn that the women of The Donner Party were the strongest in the end was miraculous.
