As a NY'er I really enjoyed the detail of the historical districts. I've never envisioned NY the way Florence has. The book was so well written by the author, one feels as though you are speaking directly to Florence.

This is also a great way to look at American history, the lives of socialites and those trying to "keep up with the Jones'".

One of the very best books that I have read in the longest time. The author has captured the world of a young New Yorker who was committed to a life of art and literature and love. It is a story everyone will appreciate who feels the need and desire to bring magic into their life. It is also a story of what it takes to live an authentic life and stay true to your best notions of self.

How amazing that had the author not rescued the diary we would never have learned about the diarist, Florence Wolfson.

I can't wait to see the movie!
