Once I started reading this book, I couldn't stop. The author paints vivid pictures in your mind of places, people, and events (Hurricane Hugo). The characters become your friends. It's a great book for a reading group, offering up much for discussion. A sequel is due out in July 2010 and I can't wait to read on about the characters and where they go from the end of this book.
