Very slow start but became engaged 1/2 way thru the book. Hemingwayâ??s writing can be quite belittling towards women in general. In this particular book, Catherine is constantly swooning over Henry and asking for constant approval of their love. Overall I enjoyed reading about WWI in Italy and the characters in his book particularly Rinaldi, the surgeon/roommate and the priest.
