I read the book outside of my book club as to theories of Koontz predicting COVID-19. Koontz didn't mention or speak of this until Chapter 39, second to the last chapter of the entire book. He wrote that Wuhan-400 was the perfect weapon only affecting human beings and that a Chinese scientist developed the virus at their RDNA labs outside of the city of Wuhan. Well... was it coincidence that now Covid-19 is ravaging the world as we speak? He wrote this in 1981, almost 40 yrs ago, you can be the judge of that but believe this is a work of fiction. He wrote "you can become an infectious carrier only four hours after coming into contact with the virus..... once infected, no one lives more than twenty-four hours".
