From a book club of 10, who rates books on a score of 1-10, most rated this book on average a 4. There were a few 6-7. The book had a potentially great story line, very relevant in today's society, but it never evolved and worse it never was resolved. The author has lengthy descriptions which rarely contribute to the story and eventually bore the reader. A sub plot of the book, an affair, ends up becoming a larger part of the story and significantly distracts from the main plot - a daughter/father struggle through teen challenges!
I loved the beginning of the book because of the insight into the father's mind and emotions. I think it really captured the fear that a father would feel if going thru something like what happened to the daughter; however, I agree about the ending and feeling as if the book never really resolved the matters between the father and daughter. I think the plot started to change direction and took the reader off course.
