The book had its humorous moments and did make the observation that you only live once so have some fun.

That aside, I felt it used "shock language" for lack of a better vocabulary way too much.

I also felt that the author did not really mean for the reader to take it seriously and it was written "tongue in cheek" but it could have been done in a less offensive manner.

Although funny at times, this book is too stereotypical about women from the South. The message - you've only got one life, so live it big and live it fun - is good in principle, but unrealistic in real life.

This was a fun, easy read. Great for the summer.

Very silly but fun at first. I laughed out loud a few times! Quickly got to the point, though, where we thought "OK, we get it. That's enough." Some members found the SPQ's attitude offensive.

Our book club read this book falling under literary fiction. Though the book described the characters the general read was pointless. All of our members complained they were looking for a "point" to the story. Overall our members would not recommend this book to book clubs.

A book for queens!!! After reading and rereading this hysterical book soooooooooo many times with and without my girlfriends, it never ever fails to make me pee my pants laughing!!! “The Promise”??? O.m.g. !!!
