Emma brought out some good discussion among newer members of our group. There is always much to talk about with a Jane Austen novel. The consensus was that Emma wasn't really our favorite Austen novel or character. While we understood the social levels and the general character of the book, we didn't find much in the way of humor as we did with Pride and Prejudice, or get the same warm and fuzzy feeling reading Emma as we did Pride and Prejudice.
All in all, I would recommend the book, but it just wasn't our most favorite Austen novel.
