Great discussion on another twist to the goal of positive thinking. Isn't done enough. People of all ages should talk about some of the aspects of thinking your way to success.
Trite, too "new age"...those of us who are professing Christians resented God being replaced by the "universe"
Not so sure about this one. I'm sort of caught between saying, "Yes, it is definitely worth the read" but "No, if you can't get past the hokey presentation."
I definitely buy into the 'power of positive thinking and attraction' schema but its not a 'secret.' We all know this...it's just some of us are better at incorporating it into our lives than others.
Of another worthy note is the individuals she interviews or who provide excerpts in the book ...I like this progression...almost like an epic of intellectual people progression...gives you access to individuals you've probably never heard of or knew anything about that are actually worth knowing...some annoying but some enlightening.
Read at your own risk.
I'm all for positive thinking. I get the message and I'm trying to apply it to my every day life. The book is very repetitive though. I did not see the movie so I was surprised how the universe seemed to replace the role of God or faith. Would recommend based on the positive thinking.
I really can't belive people are taken in by this stuff!! The only person who this works for is the author--because everyone who buys this book (I borrowed it from the library) contributes to the gold mine. The only reason to read it is to help others see the stupidity of this thinking
