I did not know when I started to read this that it was the first of seven upcoming books. I have to admit it was a little hard to get into at first for me, but then once I was in, I was addicted. I loved the character or Paige and meeting all her unique friends. If you like Divergent or The Hunger Games, chances are you will like this fantasy. I think there are a lot of different talking points you could have with this book for book club.

I loved this book. What a brilliant new world to explore! Samantha Shannon‘s writing is amazing - even though I had to learn so many new words - but now I feel like I know a secret language. I love the budding romance between Paige and Warden.
