Immaculee's strength makes you take a look at how you are living your own life. Even if you are not a person of faith one can be inspired by her story! I highly recommend!

"Eye witness account to the genocide and a testimony to absolute faith." by ejtjht (see profile) 12/16/08

This book left me feeling as though I had encountered a modern day saint. Immaculee's experiences show the power of prayer and absolute faith in God.
Her ability to forgive and move forward to not let her life experiences cripple her but to take what had happened to her and tell the world - what an example for all mankind!

"Good Inspiring Story" by Heatherhedin (see profile) 12/30/09

Parts are intense and talks about murder in some detail. But a great way to be inspired to get closer to your faith and believe more.

"A gripping first hand account of survival during the Rwandan holocaust" by hokiegirl (see profile) 09/27/13

Truly an amazing book. The story of a young Tutsi woman living in Rwanda during the genocide. Her story will make you cry at the horror but shake your head in disbelief at her incredible faith and ability to not only move forward in her life but find her way to forgive. There is so much to discuss in this book! Faith, forgiveness, family, bravery v cowardice, the list goes on. Definitely recommend!

"Personal account of surviving the Rwandan genocide of 1994" by jouelle3 (see profile) 01/03/14

"Another Holocaust that we knew little about" by schultzmom (see profile) 03/25/14

The genocide in Rwanda wasn't widely publicized in the 1990s. This book opens your eyes to the tragic events that almost wiped out an entire group of people. The author's faith in God delivers her and the group of women from the killers many, many times. The novel is informative, yet inspiring. We had a great discussion.
